The waiting has not been easy, knowing she was right here under my nose, but out of reach. All of last night and today, I stayed below deck on the boat and went quietly insane wanting to rush over there. Instead, I have my hands in my pockets wandering in like nothing is wrong, when inside me, nothing is right.

“Konstantin.” I am greeted by the floor manager, who takes me to a table. “We were not expecting you stay this long, can I get you anything, or anyone?” He glances at Lyra who has already seen me, and I see the fear that sparkles in her teary eyes. I need her to be the distraction. They won’t believe I am just here to watch and not wanting a woman out of it.

“Her,” I say, “and if Dom is around, you can let him know I am here.” The manager obliges and has Lyra come and dance at my table. I’m not really watching her. I am watching the room. Scanning every face to see if she is here, but I know he won’t have her down here on the main floor. She is upstairs where he keeps the ladies for his exclusive clientele.

I am two drinks in when the manager comes back. “Dom says you can join him upstairs.” I leave money on the table for Lyra and follow him past the extra security and up into the VIP lounges. There’s a quieter atmosphere up here, a classy erotic setting, everything from the lighting to the softer music is opulent and oozes money.

None of it interests me, I am only looking for her. I know this is where she will be. The guard opens a door and ushers me into a dimly lit private lounge. Dominic sits in one of the two armchairs and motions me to the other. Arina stands next to him, ghostly pale, in the sexiest red ballet shoes I’ve ever seen.
